We know that in mathematics, the pi is about 3.14, so March 14 is called the pi day.To celebrate the great math day together, the students and teachers actively participated in this annual fun event in various ways.

活动一：派的制作 Pie Production

活动二：数独竞赛 Sudoku Competition

在派日当天即3月14 日10:00将在线上举行数独比赛，此次共有约70名美达菲学子报名参赛，比赛项目为数独九阶标准。

The Sudoku competition will be held online at 10:00 on March 14th . This time, about 70 Macduffie students signed up to participate in the competition.

在正式比赛前，选手会进行比赛平台的适应性测试。比赛题型分为：初级、中级、高级，每一个级别一道题，共三道比赛题。 按照解题正确率、答题时长进行排名(用时越少越优秀)。届时会评出个人奖和团体奖的金奖、银奖和铜奖。

Before the official competition, players will perform the adaptability test of the competition platform. There are three types of competition questions: primary, intermediate, and advanced. There is one problem for each level. Rank according to the correctness of the problem and the length of the answer (the less time it takes, the better). Gold, silver and bronze awards for individual and group awards will be awarded. 03

同学们写一页文章来描述π (3.14) 在日常生活中的重要性，老师们将会评比出比较好的文章。Students write a one-page article describing the importance of π (3.14) in daily life, and teachers will judge the best article.

The Pi in Our Daily LivesViola Tang2020/03/11The year was 1988, the day was Monday and the place – San Francisco. A physicist named Larry Shaw at San Francisco Science museum realized the date, and said, ‘it’s March 14th, the number of Pi. Let’s celebrate.’ And that is how the tradition came about. On March 12, 2009, the day became official when the US House of Representatives passed a non-building resolution, recognizing March 14 as National Pi Day. Since then, from math enthusiasts reciting pi numbers in contests, although its an infinite number! For food enthusiasts, they eat pie to celebrated the Pi day.3.1415… The classic mathematics constant π is one of the most extremely useful and fundamental quantities we know of. It has been known for almost 4000 years and it was first discovered by Archimedes of Syracuse, one of the greatest mathematicians of the ancient world. In basic mathematics, pi is used to find area and circumference of a circle. You might not use it yourself every day, but pi dose affects our daily activities and most of us don’t even know it. Pi is used in most calculations for building and construction, communications, music theory, medical procedures, air travel, space flight and numbers of things related to our daily lives!.......
