Founded in 1890 by Harvard University graduates John and Abby MacDuffie, which has a history of 130 years. In 1990, the year of the MacDuffie Centennial, the School became coeducational. The school is located in Granby, New England, where the best educational resources are concentrated. It is only an hour's drive from Harvard University and MIT. For more than a century, the school upholds the MacDuffies’ original college preparatory vision by making intellectual habits, ethics, and diversity integral to the educational experience of each student.

There are 42 faculty staff, 75% of which have and advanced degree or above, some of them are also graduated from Ivy League Universities. Many of them have multiple years of teaching experience and they are always very nice and patient with the students.

There are also several competitions occurring at the high school level: such as the Western Massachusetts Mathematics League (WMML, we came in first place last year and defeat schools like Deerfield Acdemy, Wilbraham and Monson ...), Math Madness, and the Mathworks Math Modeling Challenge.

学校的艺术课程是Full Arts program，全面提供了*括视觉艺术，戏剧，舞蹈及音乐课程。

The school's art curriculum is full arts program, which provides a comprehensive range of visual arts, drama, dance and music courses.

The purpose of Art Education at MacDuffie is to facilitate self-expression, build confidence, and ultimately enhance the student’s life. Meanwhile, many art performance and activities also provide a stage for students to express themselves. For example, two concerts and three theatrical performances each year, and various community activities, ect.

课外活动 Extracurricular activities

周末寄宿生们会参加老师组织的各种活动，比如徒步旅行，骑自行车，购物， 看电影，看艺术展览，烘焙美食等等。

On weekends, Student Affairs office will organize various activities for students to take part in, such as hiking, cycling, shopping, watching movies, art exhibitions, BBQs and more.

学校由中国学生组建的机器人社团，在仅成立2年的基础上，勇夺The First机器人竞赛麻省**名，全国竞赛第九名的好成绩，团队创始人曹同学也被范德堡大学录取。

The MacDuffie Robotics team which only found for 2 years, known more formally as the Mechanical Mustangs, competed in the regional FIRST Tech Competition (FTC) on Jan. 11 and placed first in MA, despite finishing 9th in the tournament nationwide. Senior Andrew Cao, the captain of the MacDuffie Robotics Team was accepted by Vanderbilt University eventually.

寄宿生活 Boarding life

学校约50%学生住校，有3栋男生宿舍，2栋女生宿舍，大部分都是双人间，一部分单人间及三人间，学校会安排不同国籍的学生搭配入住，校内还有专职的护士。

50% of the students live in the school. There are 3 dormitories for boys and 2 for girls. Most of the dorms are double rooms, some are single or triple rooms. Students with different nationalities are allocated to share rooms to help them practice English after class. There is a full-time nurse in the campus as well.

宿舍有公共的休息区域，沙发，电视，微波炉，等设施。餐厅为学生提供三餐，饮料和各种小零食。晚上可以在study hall学习和写作业。学校会有专职的住校老师们做宿管，晚间有晚自习可以辅导作业。

The Dormitory has public living room with sofa, TV, microwave, and other facilities. The Dining Hall provides three meals per day, drinks and various snacks as well. The Student Center and Computer lab are also available for finishing homework or self-study at night. There are full-time residence advisors living in campus 24 hours a day, and they also provide some guided study for the homework.

学生餐厅采用自助餐的形式，食物都是每日新鲜供应，充分考虑到学生日常营业需要，虽以西式为主，但也会照顾到不同国籍学生的饮食需求。

The students' dining hall adopts the form of buffet. The food is providing with fresh ingredience every day. To make a balance on daily nutrition for all student, although it is mainly western style, it will also take good care of the dietary needs of students of different nationalities.

体育活动 Athletics

MacDuffie拥有美国东部**的篮球队之一的男篮校队，也为NBA及高等级美国大学篮球校队输送过优秀的篮球队员，其中*括现役NBA球员Omari Spellman;ESPN联盟球员Jordy Tshimanga, 肯塔基大学野猫篮球队主帅John Calipari之子 Brad Calipari等知名球员。

MacDuffie has one of the strongest basketball teams in the eastern United States, which also provided some excellent basketball players for the NBA and the top American college basketball teams, such as current NBA player Omari Spellman, ESPN player Jordy Tshimanga and Kentucky wildcat basketball team coach John Calipari's son Brad Calipari，etc.

足球队也在地区联赛中常年获得地区的冠军尤其是女足已经在新英格兰西部地区连续10年成为霸主;美达菲在丰富多彩的体育活动中培养学生的意志力、团队精神、和领导力。

The school has one of the strongest basketball teams in the eastern part of the United States, the male basketball team, and the football team has won many of the regional championship, especially the women's football team, which has become the first place in the west New England for almost 10 years. MacDuffie has train the students with team spirit, and leadership in a variety of sports activities.
