教育感言

My name is Rebecca Newcomb and I am an educator of English language and literature. As a teacher, my role is to impart this complex language in a communicative manner and foster in my students an implicit want to learn. My hope is to inspire my students to discover the beauty in the English language and be engaged in their learning, as well as understand that language is power. I want to establish a community within the classroom so the students will feel comfortable with each other and,also, with me.

Respect in a classroom is pivotal to creating a repartee with students that will enable them to be open and willing to share. Keeping a positive attitude and constant regard for the material I am teaching allows me to show students that, while hard and requiring work, learning English and dissecting literature will not be boring nor worthless. Showing enthusiasm in the classroom can help students find more enjoyment and willingness to work through harder tasks. Each set of students brings about challenges and a need to constantly change and adapt as an educator. My intrinsic love of English and understanding of the power it provides is my motivation to teach,and I intend to foster this within all students.
